Dumpster Diving Office Buildings
I got a tip from a contact about an office building service elevator full of old computer equipment, so I drove over to check for anything worth saving. What followed was a quick dive through discarded equipment, useless junk, and a few surprising finds:
What do we have here? I think it’s time to go to the office.
(Montage of driving into the office)
(Finds 56K modem)
When was the last time you saw one of these bad boys?
(Finds old monitors)
(Finds small desktop)
Yeah baby, this might work.
All right, let’s try this. So what do we got here?
All right, let’s see what we got. Parallel port, you don’t see these too often. We’ve got memory. It’s got like no hard drive?
OK, not bad at all. This machine would be great for any kind of general use, and it looks like the i5 processor can still pack a punch. The onboard graphics and slow hard drive do hold it back, however. Upgrading the storage, memory, and adding a dedicated video card could really make this machine shine. Either way, not bad at all for a free computer that was taken out of the trash.
What would you do with this machine if you found it? Let everyone know by posting in the video comments!
