Get Wood the Right Way

Need huge amounts of wood in Minecraft without building a massive redstone farm? There’s a simple trick that turns mega spruce trees into a fast, repeatable resource machine. This video shows how a basic tree stand can outperform complicated farms and give you stacks of logs in under a minute:

Need wood in Minecraft for a project such as a large storage system? Don’t want to have to build a complicated tree farm or use a bunch of TNT to get wood? Well don’t stick to just cutting down small trees like a noob, build a tree stand!

First build a 13×13 box filled with flowing water that runs down a channel into a storage chest.

Now build a 2×2 platform out into the middle of the box right above the water. Build straight up on the corner of the box about 25 blocks with ladder or scaffolding.

Now build a small gangway at the top that runs over near the center of the box.

Minecraft Tree Stand

To use your tree stand, plant four spruce saplings on the center platform. Now apply two to four bone meal to grow a mega spruce tree.

Now climb to the top of your gangway and jump across to the top of the tree. Center your crosshair between all four blocks at your feet. Now mine straight downwards while making a slow circular motion.

This will give you up to 100 or more logs in under 60 seconds. The extra saplings, logs, and sticks will fall naturally into the water and flow into the collector chest.

This is one of the fastest methods for large scale wood gathering and is far simpler to build than a complex redstone based wood machine.

Have you tried using this method yourself? Think using bamboo is better now that bamboo can be used? Let us know in the video comments what you think!
