This video shows how to wirelessly broadcast your Android screen to a Windows PC using built in tools, with no cables, no paid apps, and no root access required. Once your PC is properly configured, your phone can mirror instantly for demos, training, livestreams, or troubleshooting:

We’re going to quickly learn how to have an Android device wirelessly broadcast to a Windows PC. This super easy, free method needs no special cables, no special software, and no Android root access. So let’s get started.

First, on your Windows PC, use the search bar to pull up Projection Settings. On this screen, you may encounter one of three different statuses. Status one: No wireless support. You’ll encounter this when there is a wireless problem with your PC. This could mean your wireless is disabled, there are issues with your drivers, or your PC simply doesn’t have wireless, which is common with many desktop PCs. This test machine used for our example doesn’t have any wireless at all. No problem… wireless card installed.

Now that the wireless issue has been taken care of, Projection Settings now shows status two: Add wireless display feature. This is the most common status you’ll encounter, and it just means that the optional Wireless Display feature needs to be added before using it. To do this, click on the Optional Features link, then click Add a Feature, then scroll down to select Wireless Display. Go ahead and install that, and after a few moments…

We arrive at status three: Launch the Connect app. Now we’re ready to go. Select Available Everywhere from the first dropdown menu. You may want to turn this back off when you’re finished using it. Now click the Launch the Connect App link, and our PC is ready to rock.

On your Android device, swipe down from the top of the screen to open your settings, then select the Smart View icon in the lower half of the screen. You should see your PC name appear under Available Devices. Click on that, and within a few seconds, boom there we go. Now you can use your Android device and the PC will mirror it. The PC screen will automatically switch between portrait and landscape mode depending on what your Android is displaying.

To disconnect, simply click on the Smart View icon again. So there you have it. Easy peasy. Please feel free to leave a comment on the video if you are having trouble, and thanks for watching!
